CAC@SJB Presents.. The In Progress Group's Spring 2007 Poetry Workshop
Richie Robles takes his poetry to new heights at last Spring's poetry workshop
CAC@SJB is proud to announce that we are hosting the new Spring 2007 Poetry Workshop for Teens and Young Adults. This wonderful workshop is the 4th series being presented at the Center since 2005, and is being facillitated, as always, by "Mr. B" Luis Bernard of The In Progress Group.

This special 5-week workshop is a creative writing and performance workshop is free.. and is specifically geared for the talented teens and young adults of our community. We lovingly call these workshops.. "5 weeks of miracles".. because week to week.. we never know what's going to happen.. but when it does.. it's nothing short of miraculous.. wonderful.. and unforgettable.

The Spring 2007 Poetry will begin this coming Saturday, March 10th from 2 - 4 pm., and then continue March 24 and 31 at the same time. The April dates are tentatively set for the 1st and the 15th. The workshop's last Saturday experience always ends with an open-mic event so that all the participating poets can do their thing live, and share what they've learned in front of a crowd. The workshops also feature special guest poets who are established and very much active on the poetry scene. They generously take the time to bless us with their wisdom, their poetry, and share their own personal experiences and feelings about this wonderful thing called poetry.
The amazing "Falu" was a special guest poet at last year's poetry workshops.. who touched our hearts, and represented poetry in a serious way!
As fun and inspiring as these poetry workshops are, they can also be pretty intense at times.. so, we ask that only mature, responsible individuals who are serious about their writing and their poetry sign up for this workshop. If you are not serious about this, don't waste your time or ours. We want this experience to be great and memorable one for all involved in helping make it happen. Seating space is limited.. so make sure you sign up as soon as possible! And if you are planning to be a part of this workshop, make sure you arrive early every Saturday the workshop is on!
Lite food and refreshments will be available to all participants of the poetry workshops. We wouldn't want anyone sharing their poetry on empty stomachs! We really hope to see some of the poets who participated in last Spring's poetry workshops, along with some of the new faces that have joined us at our last 2 open-mic events at the Center. It should be an even bigger blast this time around!
